2019 Readers' Choice Best EMT Holly Struble and they can have the mama. Holly Struble was recently selected by readers of the Malvern Daily Record as the 2019 Reader's Choice Best EMT. She has worked in EMS in the Malvern area since 2014 When Struble received the news she had been named EMT of the year by the readers of the Malvern Daily Record she was truly humbled "When I moved to Louisiana, EMS sparked my interest. I ran into some people going to EMS school who recommended I should try it out. So I did because I wanted to help other people and have more knowledge of what to do in critical accidents," said Struble, as she explained why she got into EMS. "It means a lot to me. It is telling me that I am being noticed for what I do, and they appreciate it. It's a good standard to have that you want to leave everyone with a positive impression about the work you do in EMs," she said. For others considering a career in EMS, Struble offers this advice: " think everyone should go through the EMT program to get more of an idea about what is going on in EMS. It's not meant for everyone, and it is totally different than what you see on television. I think everyone going into the medical field should do EMT school first." While in Louisiana, Struble worked for Acadian Ambulance for five years, where she was named the Southwest Louisiana EMT of the Year Originally from Hot Springs, Struble started working for LifeNet when she and her husband, Mark retumed to the local area When Struble is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her three children and five grandchildren. She also likes to go scuba diving, fishing, boating, motorcycling, and camping. "I have a lot of favorites about my job," Struble said. "I like to help assist with the patients. I like the buddy system with my partners. We work hand-in-hand to make the patients happy and help them with their needs. And of course, I love the babies.
